Clicking for Love: When Online Dating Turns To Marriage

Around this time 5 years ago I decided that being alone just wasn’t for me anymore. I’d had my time wanting nothing to do with the opposite sex, divorcing an idiot can do that to a girl. I also started caring what I looked like again, funny how those two things go hand in hand. It started off more as a curiosity, this girl I knew was on this online dating site Plenty of Fish and I was thinking if she can find dates on that site than I surely can. I know that sounds a little conceited but you don’t know this girl, she be crazy! It started off innocent enough I made a profile and put up some pictures of me looking cute and a little sexy, nothing too racy now you don’t want to attract only the horny ones.

I must say… I really enjoyed myself. If your a girl and you have ever been on a dating site than you know that you get a lot of attention, some good and some down right scary! I can not tell you how many married men messaged me to see if I was down with OPP… which no I’m not, go home to your wife asshole!!. I went on a lot of dates and had a great time even with the guys I would never think of going out twice with. I got to know more of who I am, explore my sexuality and had a blast doing it.

I had no intention of trying to find something serious until I got an message from the sweetest guy ever but he lived in Birmingham… almost two hours away. The first time we called each other we talked for an hour and half! We really clicked from day one. So I figured what the heck, I drove the two hours to Birmingham to meet him and we had our first date at Silvertron Cafe and went for drinks after at cool dueling piano bar called Twist and Shout and had a great time! I won’t tell you the rest because it’s none of your business and because my husband would kill me… but we had a GREAT time 🙂 From that first date we either talked on the phone or saw each other every day. He would spend the weekend in Madison with me or I would spending it Birmingham with him./

After we had been dating a year and half and every living person around me was bugging the crap out of us… When are you going to get married, When are you going to get married, when are you going to get marred… you get the point! We went to a late night showing of the worlds most boring movie ever and I wasn’t in the best mood, he decided to make my day infinitely better and he proposed. I cried, we hugged, I said yes, we kissed, we…. I will stop now. We got engaged!

Fast forward 6 months and we were walking down the isle on this date three years ago!

Happy 3rd Anniversary Baby! I love you so very much Dan @danthetallcool1 and I don’t regret a single second that we have been together.

This is my story of how you can find true love through the clicks of a keyboard.

I love the pictures and congratulations! I think people are lucky now that they can use the Internet to date. It opens up so many options instead of just people you already know (and maybe their friends).

    1. I completely agree with you! I think that it gives you the ability to see if you like someone for who they are way. Of course there is always the chance they are pretending to be someone else…. scary!

  2. Love it! And the photos too!! Happy that you had such a great experience with online dating and a happily ever after ending. 🙂 I had really horrible dates!!

    1. Thank you Rachel! I loved Silverton, unfortunately I haven’t been back yet and it has been a long time but then I don’t live in Birmingham. Maybe we will go for our next Anniversary.

  3. Awwe, lovely! Congrats 🙂
I really enjoyed my time doing the online dating thing and after about 14mths and many, many dates (both good and bad) I also found the man that was to become my hubby. Click!

    1. I think online dating is such a great way to meet people. It lets you get to know them better before you have even gone out yet. It also lets you juggle a lot of them all at once lol. So cool to meet other people who met through online date. Is this where you developed your love of sexting? 🙂

  4. Oh my gosh, that is the best story ever. So glad you found each other, you two look so cute together!

    1. Thank you, I never thought I would be one of “those” people. I used to think people were crazy for dating people they met online but it seems to be the way to go these days.

  5. Hello, thankyou for a rather worthwhile piece,
I really don’t by and large attach blog comments but enjoyed your post and so thought I’d personally say many thanks – –
